Facebook To Display Ads On Gambling, Lottery, And Dietary Supplements

It must be noted that Facebook has set its Ad Guidelines regarding advertisements that belong to gambling, lottery, and dietary supplement categories. These ads can not appear in Facebook pages. However, Facebook has recently made some changes on its Ad Guidelines and now permitting these once prohibited ads to be displayed.
But there are also provisions that come along with this permission. For offline gambling ads, they must be targeted outside the United States and they should have explicit consent from Facebook. There are also restrictions in lottery and dietary supplement ads. For instance, dietary supplements must be from certified pharmacies. Ads must pass approval from Facebook prior to posting.

What does this mean for business people? This means that they will be able to reach a wider market. Facebook has millions of users which they can target. For Facebook, this would mean more advertising profit. And for Facebook users, this would mean additional information about these kinds of products and services.

Facebook has made it easier for advertisers to benefit from the huge number of Facebook users. Strict guidelines are now being modified to make them more advertiser-friendly. But advertisers should realize that although these types of ads are already allowed to be displayed on Facebook pages, there are still some limitations and restrictions as to the content of the ads. The ads should still adhere to the guidelines and policies set by Facebook.

This move from Google has a strong impact on advertisers. This is a ray of hope for advertisers to penetrate the populated Facebook network.
